Meet the Author

Phyllis Calderon is an author, speaker, violin teaching artist, and faith-driven leader who has spent decades helping people discover and step into the assignment they were born for.

Her work is rooted in the belief that purpose is not reserved for a chosen few. It belongs to every person willing to stand up and move toward it. Through music, word, and worship, she creates spaces where believers encounter the courage they need to stop sitting in their gifts and begin living them out.

Phyllis has served as a teaching artist, community organizer, and minister in Chicago and beyond. Her debut book, Stop Sitting and Stand: When Faith Demands Movement, Not Comfort, is the culmination of that calling.

She is available as a speaker, workshop facilitator, and consultant for churches, schools, and organizations committed to awakening purpose in their communities.
